Global Steel manufactures, and supplies, Stainless Steel 347, 347H Pipe Fittings. These Fittings are made following all national and international quality standards. With our extensive range of fittings to suit customer specifications, we provide pipe fittings in a variety of forms, sizes, thicknesses, and standards.
Table Of content
These SS 347 and 347H Pipe Fittings are divided into martensitic, ferritic, and austenitic varieties based on the crystalline structure. Our Pipe Fittings are capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, stress, and vibrations. These Pipe Fittings are provided to a variety of sectors, including pulp & paper, petroleum, gas, and pharmaceutical. Our 347 and 374H pipe fittings are made of corrosion-resistant high alloy steel. 347 Pipe Fittings because of the niobium concentration, equal tees are very resistant to intergranular corrosion.
The creep strength of 347H Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings is high pipe Fittings withstand moderate acidic and nitric solutions. The inclusion of Tantalum and Columbium content makes it more exceptional for intergranular corrosion resistance. These pipes are non-magnetic and can be annealed and hardened by cold working. The alloy 347 stainless steel fittings provide good corrosion resistance, comparable to that of stainless steel 304. The alloy 347 was developed for use in high-temperature environments with chromium carbide precipitation.
The maintenance of the quality of our SS 321 / 321H Pipe Fittings is our top priority, and to achieve that we have assigned a team of talented and ingenious field experts, who follow a special quality assurance plan. First, the raw material brought in from reputed vendors is inspected, then it is put through many quality checks during production, etc. Several Tests are undertaken to ensure proper service performance, and this is followed by a non-destructive test, where the fully assembled Pipe Fittings are checked for any defects.
What chemicals are compatible with stainless steel 347H pipe fittings?
Stainless steel 347H pipe fittings are highly corrosion-resistant to various chemicals, acids, and alkalis. They have excellent resistance to organic acids, such as acetic acid and formic acid, and are also resistant to many inorganic acids, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid. Additionally, they have good resistance to alkaline solutions, such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. Before usage, compatibility with certain chemicals should be confirmed using industry standards and chemical compatibility charts.
What is the difference between stainless steel 347 and 347H pipe fittings?
Stainless steel 347 and 347H pipe fittings are both austenitic stainless steel variants used in high-temperature applications. The main difference between the two is the carbon content. Stainless steel 347 contains 0.08% carbon, while 347H contains more carbon, typically around 0.04-0.10%. This higher carbon content improves the high-temperature strength of the material. Therefore, 347H is preferred for applications with critical high-temperature strength and creep resistance.
Can stainless steel 347H pipe fittings be used in cryogenic applications?
Yes, stainless steel 347H pipe fittings can be used in cryogenic applications, which involve very low temperatures below -150°C (-238°F). However, the material’s low-temperature performance may not be as good as other austenitic stainless steels, such as 304L or 316L. It is essential to select the appropriate material and ensure proper design and installation to prevent thermal stress and embrittlement at low temperatures.
