Stainless Steel 310 flange has good ductility and weldability, as well as outstanding high-temperature qualities. The high chromium content increases its high-temperature properties and also gives stainless steel 310 flanges good aqueous corrosion resistance. Because of its high chromium content, stainless steel 310 flanges are highly resistant to sulfidation and can also be used in relatively moderate carburizing atmospheres. It is suitable to use stainless steel 310 flanges in applications that require use in hydrogen sulphide rich environments such as crude oil and natural gas production facilities, wastewater treatment and utility facilities, and sewers.
Stainless steel 310H flange has a carbon content restricted to exclude the lower end of the 310 range, so it is the grade of choice for high-temperature applications. Stainless steel 310H flanges possess good resistance to corrosion at temperatures of up to 1040°C (1904°F) in intermittent use and 1150°C (2102°F) in continuous use. A higher concentration of chromium makes it withstand high temperatures.
Stainless steel 310S flange is used when the application environment involves moist corrodents in a temperature range lower than that which is normally considered a high temperature. The lower carbon content of 310S reduces its high-temperature strength compared to 310H.
Due to the exceptional durability of stainless steel 310/310S/310H Flanges, they are usually used in furnace parts, oil burner parts, carburizing boxes, heat treatment baskets, and jigs, and heat exchangers.

The density of stainless steel 310 is similar to other austenitic stainless steels, such as 304 and 316. The density of SS 310 flanges can be used in calculating the weight of the flange, which is necessary in engineering and manufacturing processes.
