Grade 310 Stainless Steel is a medium carbon austenitic stainless steel used in high-temperature applications such as furnace parts and heat treatment equipment. It can withstand continuous temperatures of 1150°C and intermittent temperatures of 1035°C. The reduced carbon version of grade 310 is grade 310S. When heat treatment on a rolling hearth furnace is required, SS 301/310S accessories can be used.

Temperature recorders-controllers are stuffed into the furnaces. For gently cyclic situations, SS 310 Ferrule Fittings is recommended; it has the stability to endure in cryogenic environments. Due to the presence of chromium and nickel, stainless steel ferrule fittings are resistant to chemical and oxidizing agent assault and are utilized in hot working applications and furnaces.
