To provide oxidation resistance, Incoloy 825 Instrumentation Fittings are made of nickel, iron, chromium, molybdenum, and copper in their alloy. When compared to normal stainless steel, the high amounts of nickel, molybdenum, and copper give significant oxidation resistance. Incoloy 825 Instrumentation Fittings provide good corrosion resistance. It has enough nickel to survive stress corrosion cracking caused by chloride ions. Because of the molybdenum and copper composition, the alloy is resistant to acids and reducing agents.

Incoloy 825 Instrumentation Fitting is titanium stabilized to resist pitting and intergranular attack after manufacturing, particularly welding, which includes heating in the critical sensitization temperature range (650°C – 760°C). Sulphuric and phosphoric acid corrosion resistance is good in Incoloy 825 instrumentation fittings, which are generally considered the most cost-effective alloy in sulphuric acid applications. Both hot and cold work is possible with Incoloy 825. Working temperatures should be between 870 and 1180 degrees Celsius, with a finish temperature between 870 and 980 degrees Celsius. For the best corrosion resistance, hot wrought products should be stabilized and annealed before use. This alloy is less difficult to cold shape than stainless steel.
Incoloy 825 Instrumentation fittings display excellent mechanical properties in temperatures ranging from sub-zero to relatively high temperatures. When exposed to temperatures above 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, the microstructure of the alloy may change causing a fall in its ductility and strength. Due to this reason, it is advised not to use Incoloy 825 instrumentation fittings where creep-rupture properties are of dire importance.
