Hastelloy C22 instrumentation fittings are made of a nickel-chromium alloy that withstands pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Hastelloy C22 has widely recognized as one of the most corrosion-resistant alloys in the world. C22 is resistant to both reducing and oxidizing media, so it can be used in corrosive situations. Instrumented Hastelloy C22 fittings are also resistant to oxidation in aquatic environments. They can withstand a wide range of chemical processes, including strong oxidants such as ferric and acetic anhydride, and seawater and saltwater. They have the ability to prevent the formation of grain boundary precipitates at the heat-affected zone of the weld. They are also easy to assemble. Heat treatment or cold working will not harden Hastelloy C22.
