Home / Monel Flanges / Monel 400 Flanges
Global steel is an established supplier of Monel 400 Flanges manufactured using premium quality metals and alloys.
Monel 400 Flanges have Nickel and Copper in their alloy because of which they can withstand salt, seawater, caustic solutions, and steam at high temperatures. They are made from a corrosion-resistant, nickel-copper alloy that can be used in a wide array of applications. Monel 400 Flanges provide exceptional corrosion resistance and weldability. They also have moderate to high strength. They can be used in a variety of environments. Fast-flowing brackish water or the ocean are no match for Monel 400 flanges. Monel 400 Flanges, in their de-aerated form, are extremely resistant to hydrofluoric and hydrochloric acid. Monel 400 flanges display some magnetic properties at room temperature. Monel 400 Flanges are usually used in the oil, chemical, and maritime industries.
Table Of content
Monel Flanges are more resistant to nickel in reducing conditions and show resistance to copper in oxidizing situations. Monel 400 Flanges provide good mechanical qualities in temperatures ranging from cryogenic to roughly 900 degrees Fahrenheit. It is resistant to sulphuric and hydrofluoric acids. However, aeration will make the metal corrode faster. Monel Flanges have low resistance to acid salts but on the contrary, they are highly resistant to acid salts and alkaline salts.Dimensions of the Monel Flanges can be customized according to the customer’s needs.
Monel 400 Flanges are used in several applications in different industries such as the marine industry, seawater applications (pipes and valves), equipment used in chemical plants, aerospace applications, and musical instruments.
How do you maintain and care for Monel 400 flanges?
To maintain and care for Monel 400 flanges, it is necessary to keep them clean and free from dust, which can scratch or corrode the surface. Regular inspection and cleaning are recommended to remove any buildup of dirt, oil, or other substances that may affect the flange’s performance. Additionally, it is necessary to avoid exposure to extreme temperatures and harsh chemicals, as these can cause damage or corrosion. Proper storage and handling can also help prevent damage to the flanges during transportation and installation.
What temperature does Monel 400 flanges melt?
Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy with a relatively high melting point of around 1350°C (2460°F). However, the melting point of a flange made of Monel 400 will depend on the specific manufacturing process used and the exact composition of the alloy. In general, Monel 400 is known for its high strength and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use in high-temperature and corrosive environments.
What is the application of Monel 400 Flanges?
Monel 400 flanges are commonly used in applications that require high strength and resistance to corrosion, like in marine, chemical, and petrochemical industries. These Monel 400 Flanges are commonly employed in piping systems to connect pipes or to seal or close off the ends of pipes. Monel 400 flanges can also be used in other applications, like heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and other high-temperature and high-pressure equipment.
